Chemedu Jemali was born on 03-03-71, he was born in Harare, he attended his Primary education at Howsons Trust Primary School, a school which is situated in highlands. He later proceeded with his secondary education at Wadzanai High in Shamva.

Chemedu Jemeli started sculpting under the influence of his brother Chituwa Jemali who is a prominent and famous artist as Shona art is concerned.  He is the one who taught Chemedu more about sculpting. It was in the early nineties, just soon after completing his O’levels when he started sculpting.

Chemedu’s works have since been exhibited outside in countries like America, Britain, Scotland, Holland, France, Germany and Canada.  Chemedu mostly works on abstracts, heads and figures. There are three male artists in Jemali’s family namely Chituwa, Chemedu and Salim.
