Jim started working in 1990 when he sculpted on small off-cuts at Tapfuma Gutsa’s home in Tafara. His serious involvement started in 1992 when he moved to work with Agnes Nyanhongo and Joseph Munemo in Greendale. He worked with these two artists for three years before he moved to Chapungu sculpture village in Harare. He enrolled in the Chapungu sculpture program as a resident artist for two years. What makes Jim’s art so appealing is his ability to use the natural and spiritual elements of the stone to create art that is incredibly expressive in mood & emotion. His works have been collected around the world, in Germany, Holland, South Africa, Singapore, the U.S.A. and many more.
