I, Patrick Fredy was born on 1st May 1960 in Manica Province, Mozambique.  I am a member of the Chikunda tribe.  In my family we are six, 4 boys and 2 girls, I am the last born.

During my teens I was very curious of how people make a subject out of stone.  My curiosity choked me to approach a well known artist by the name of Moses Masaya.  He was my full time teacher.  He taught me in 1987.

As I became attached to the art I then left Mr Masaya for my own business in 1988.  I joined Matombo Gallery, Vukutiwa Gallery,  Chapungu village gallery and The National Gallery of Zimbabwe.  I am married, my wife’s name is Mrs Christine Fredy.  I have 4 children, their names are Caven, Melody, Bento and Blessing.
